Proverbs 5:23 I will not die for lack of discipline and instruction, and in the greatness of my folly be led astray and lost.

How does this fit into your life when you are trying to build your business. Are you led astray? Do you get lost in the massiveness of trying to Marketing your company? Many get so overwhelmed when starting a business with all of the expenditures that come with a business. They lose sight of planning, budgeting and setting goals, and end up flying by the seat of their pants.

When you fly by the seat of your pants you fail at so many things. Why??? Because you look for cheap, not quality. You listen to people that throw out a good pitch, but once they have you hooked, don’t follow through with good service. You make bad decisions, deals and decisions!

Planning gives you the opportunity to seek out good advice, make sure you know who you need to market to, how you need to do it and the most cost effective way to make it happen. Setting goals is a part of planning.

Example: Set 30 day Goals, 90 day Goals and 9 month goals, and 1 year goals and for each one plan what you want to get accomplished in each timeframe. Dont set goals that are unreasonable. If you think you will never reach your goal, you won’t. Be realistic and even a little under, then when you come out over what you set as a goal you feel like you accomplished it. Positive thinking = success and confidence.

Budgeting gives you an idea of what you can spend, where to spend it based on affordability and the knowledge of what you have to spend to reach the goal you have set. It keeps you on track month to month and it also helps you to maintain a positive balance in your bank account. Budgets are not created to be ignored. They are created to accomplish your vision of where and how you want to grow your business.

Setting Goals gives you something to work toward. As an Entrepreneur, the one thing needed to get us going are the goals we set for ourselves. Since we don’t like to be disappointed we will do whatever it takes to succeed. Setting goals is our way of keeping ourselves on the path to success. As I stated above, be realistic when setting your goals. Don’t set yourself up for failure before you have started.

There are people that can help you get started if you don’t know where to start. We do consulting for Marketing, Branding and Advertising. Please contact us if you would like to know more. Be faithful in your Marketing!

“Behold the turtle. He makes progress only when he sticks his neck out.”
– James Bryant Conant

Are you sticking your neck out for your business?

Many Business Owners don’t think they need to Market, Brand or Advertise their business, however they still expect it to be successful.

If you don’t include a budget in your business plan for some sort of Marketing, Branding and Advertising you only hurt your business. Word of mouth is good but it’s not enough to pay the bills.

In today’s society there is so much competition, you have to go the extra mile to stand out above the rest. We have taught this for years to our clients, from print to online, there has to be a presence, and it has to be with longevity and consistancy to be effective.

What are you doing to set your business above your competitors? Are you sticking your neck out? Are you trying multiple venues? Have you tried online Marketing and Advertising?

If you would like to try Internet Radio, give us a call. We have been doing Internet Radio since 1999, and we currently have 9 stations. Be the turtle!

As predicted in early 2000, Tucker Communications, along with Tune In Radio, (TC’s App Partner), and the Ford Motor Co., has struck a deal to allow ANY Ford vehicle with a SYNC Dashboard to receive all of their broadcast stations. The announcement was sent Tuesday, January 10, 2012 to the public. This partnership between the 3 companies has given drivers over 50,000 stations to pick from, as well as the stations the Tucker Communications provide. Tune In Radio is an App driven business that provides all smart phones, IPads, ITouch and Android driven readers an App to listen to many Internet Streaming Stations, (like Tucker Communications), as well as many Terra based stations. We feel that within the next 12 months, all 3 major car manufacturers will have a similar In Dash system that Tune In Radio and the likes can be heard through. Now, we CAN take our stations with us in our car. Thank you Tune In Radio and Ford Motor Co. for having the foresight to be leaders in this field.

Founder’s Prediction in 2000 coming true in 2012!

Have you thought about how you could do better in your life?

Struggling just to make ends meet, juggling bills because you don’t have the money you need to pay all of them, counting pennies just to feed your family.

Your story fits millions of people in our world today. So many are failing in their businesses and in their lives, not knowing where to turn for help.

What do you need to change to live the life you were truly meant to have?

Have you asked for help from God and not received an answer? What seems to be the problem?

Well, I learned that I just wasn’t listening. God talks to us through our dreams, in quiet times with no distractions, through other people, and by gut feelings and what we call six sense. It’s when you ignore these things that life gets so messed up. We do it on our own, because of course we have all the answers, and then blame God when we mess it up. If it is negative, it’s not from God. If it seems wrong, it’s not from God. If it makes you queasy when you talk about it, it’s not from God.

Make a pact to listen more, learn to trust those gut instincts, and don’t go against those feelings that make you queasy. God’s trying to tell you something.

Start the New Year off right… Fit God into your life unconditionally. Listen to that inner voice and don’t act if there is a doubt.

And if all else fails when you do it yourself…..Ask God!!

Have a blessed and prosperous New Year!!

I wanted to share with all of you this most awesome story and hope that for those of you that don’t believe in Santa Claus… Santa does exist. Teach children the meaning of Christmas and what Santa really does and Santa will live on forever… in our thoughts and in our hearts. Each of us has it in us… however not everyone acts. Give, Love and Believe!

The story starts out with …I remember my first Christmas adventure with Grandma. I was just a kid.

I remember tearing across town on my bike to visit her on the day my big sister dropped the bomb: “There is no Santa Claus,” she jeered. “Even dummies know that!”

My Grandma was not the gushy kind, never had been. I fled to her that day because I knew she would be straight with me. I knew Grandma always told the truth, and I knew that the truth always went down a whole lot easier when swallowed with one of her “world-famous” cinnamon buns. I knew they were world-famous, because Grandma said so. It had to be true.

Grandma was home, and the buns were still warm. Between bites, I told her everything. She was ready for me. “No Santa Claus?” she snorted….”Ridiculous! Don’t believe it. That rumor has been going around for years, and it makes me mad, plain mad!! Now, put on your coat, and let’s go.”

“Go? Go where, Grandma?” I asked. I hadn’t even finished my second world-famous cinnamon bun. “Where” turned out to be Kerby’s General Store, the one store in town that had a little bit of just about everything. As we walked through its doors, Grandma handed me ten dollars. That was a bundle in those days. “Take this money,” she said, “and buy something for someone who needs it. I’ll wait for you in the car.” Then she turned and walked out of Kerby’s.

I was only eight years old. I’d often gone shopping with my mother, but never had I shopped for anything all by myself. The store seemed big and crowded, full of people scrambling to finish their Christmas shopping.

For a few moments I just stood there, confused, clutching that ten-dollar bill, wondering what to buy, and who on earth to buy it for.

I thought of everybody I knew: my family, my friends, my neighbors, the kids at school, the people who went to my church.

I was just about thought out, when I suddenly thought of Bobby Decker. He was a kid with bad breath and messy hair, and he sat right behind me in Mrs. Pollock’s grade-two class. Bobby Decker didn’t have a coat. I knew that because he never went out to recess during the winter. His mother always wrote a note, telling the teacher that he had a cough, but all we kids knew that Bobby Decker didn’t have a cough; he didn’t have a good coat. I fingered the ten-dollar bill with growing excitement. I would buy Bobby Decker a coat!

I settled on a red corduroy one that had a hood to it. It looked real warm, and he would like that.

“Is this a Christmas present for someone?” the lady behind the counter asked kindly, as I laid my ten dollars down. “Yes, ma’am,” I replied shyly. “It’s for Bobby.”

The nice lady smiled at me, as I told her about how Bobby really needed a good winter coat. I didn’t get any change, but she put the coat in a bag, smiled again, and wished me a Merry Christmas.

That evening, Grandma helped me wrap the coat (a little tag fell out of the coat, and Grandma tucked it in her Bible) in Christmas paper and ribbons and wrote, “To Bobby, From Santa Claus” on it.

Grandma said that Santa always insisted on secrecy. Then she drove me over to Bobby Decker’s house, explaining as we went that I was now and forever officially, one of Santa’s helpers.

Grandma parked down the street from Bobby’s house, and she and I crept noiselessly and hid in the bushes by his front walk. Then Grandma gave me a nudge. “All right, Santa Claus,” she whispered, “get going.”

I took a deep breath, dashed for his front door, threw the present down on his step, pounded his door and flew back to the safety of the bushes and Grandma.

Together we waited breathlessly in the darkness for the front door to open. Finally it did, and there stood Bobby.

Fifty years haven’t dimmed the thrill of those moments spent shivering, beside my Grandma, in Bobby Decker’s bushes. That night, I realized that those awful rumors about Santa Claus were just what Grandma said they were — ridiculous. Santa was alive and well, and we were on his team.

I still have the Bible, with the coat tag tucked inside: $19.95.

May you always have LOVE to share,

HEALTH to spare and FRIENDS that care…

And may you always believe in the magic of Santa Claus!

Our sinfulness often leads to dismal situations and feelings of despair. But we must always remember that hopelessness does not come from God. God is the author of hope. Even the Exile, with its seeming hopelessness, was part of God’s long-range plan for his people. And his plans were good.

If you are facing hopelessness, you may be inheriting the results of some other person’s sinful decisions and actions. Or you may be reaping your own bad rewards. You may not have really discovered the hope that is found in God’s love for you through Jesus Christ.

Reject despair and seek out God’s plan—and his hopes—for you.

Don’t be afraid to talk to someone if you are feeling hopeless. There are many who can help. Or you can contact me and I would be glad to talk with you. I work with many who are hopeless, depressed, angry, lost and feeling unloved through a non profit organization that blessed my life when I needed help.

Hopelessness could also be a form of depression. There are non medical treatments that can help you as well.

Never think you are alone…. God is always with you, even when you can’t feel Him or hear Him. And God has helpers, in places you would least expect.

In James 1:3

We are told “For when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.”

I live by this daily. Be blessed and know you are not alone. There are many that suffer and few that reach out for help. If you need help, please reach out and allow someone to help you in your time of need.

Do you take the time to give thanks for what you have in your life?

Most people don’t take the time through out the year to think about what they have to be thankful for. They wait until Thanksgiving and Christmas and cram it in to 2 days.

What I would like to ask you is to list the things you have been blessed to have been given or earned in your life today. Then take the time to give thanks to God for what you have.

Job 10:12 “You have granted me life and favor, and Your providence has preserved my spirit.”

I would also like to remind you that not everyone finds the holidays as joyful and happy. If you see someone that looks sad or down, help them! Depression is stronger during the holidays then any other time and that brings about many feelings in a person that can be harmful to others and themselves.

Help one another. Pay it forward and reap the rewards in Heaven for the deeds of kindness on earth. And please don’t do it for good favor, but from the heart with love and compassion.

My wish for you this day is that you are blessed with peace, joy, love and happiness, from my heart to yours.

Happy Thanksgiving

Please feel free to share what you are thankful for here on this blog.

I am thankful for a warm and loving family. A wonderful husband, a son following God’s commands, a daughter in law that is like my own, 5 beautiful grandchildren to love and spoil and a blessed business that is more of a passion than a job. I am truly blessed.

Set your Priorities to what is the most important

What’s truly important to you? Is it Money, your family, your friends, or maybe hobbies? The answer to this question should be how you prioritize your time for each one. Many of us see our job as simply a vehicle to provide the money to do what we like, for others, our job is our passion. Make sure that where you want to go in your life isn’t suffering because of misplaced priorities. Compare your priorities with how you actually spend your time and money. If they don’t match, then you’re lying to yourself. For me, my priorities are God first, me second, my family third and my job comes in fourth.

I have always put God first in my life, however my job was always next because I was raised to make sure my family was taken care of and my bills were paid. I lived this way for many years before I ended up in the hospital… by taking care of everything and everyone else, I did not take that good of care of me and it almost cost me everything. That was the turning point of my life and my thinking. I learned that if I take care of me, everything and everyone else could be taken care of. Set your priorities according to what you consider the most important in your life and not have a Lesson Learned… the hard way!!!

Time Management

Is your time managing you? Are you managing your time? Take control of your time by changing your focus and creating results. Identify the must have and do’s of your time. Time for yourself (weekends or days off), time for the kids events (school play, sports etc…), time for the wife/hubby (cuddle time, date night).

The next thing you need to discover, what is taking you away from the things you say are important to you. Do you bring work home? Do you allow friends to call anytime just to say hey and catch up on gossip during the time that you have set aside for yourself or family? How many times have you been watching a movie with your spouse or the family and received a phone call from a friend or someone from work and instead of asking them if you could call them back, you got up and talked to them, missing 30 minutes or longer of the movie. Is it worth it? Could it have waited? Are there alternatives…YES there is! Don’t compromise your special time, you can never get it back. The only exceptions… emergencies… and yes if they say it is, then it had better be.

Finally - stick to it.

Boundaries

Draw a line in the sand and learn that it’s ok to say “no“. Stop self-sabotaging your time management. If you don’t know how to tell someone no or not right now, then practice it.

For example,

“John, I understand that we did not get a chance to talk about it at work today, however this is the time I spend with my family, can we discuss it in the morning when I get in.”

“Mom, hi, is everything ok? Yes, Great… we are just in the middle of a movie, can I call you back after its over? Thanks..Love ya”

“Terri hi, is everything ok? Awesome, I am at Billy’s game can I call you back later? Great thanks”

Find something that works for you and use it. Trust me the first time you put “you” first you will be bouncing off the walls. Why? Because you didn’t allow someone else, that you probably didn’t want to talk to anyway, mess up your planned evening, your personal time, or your quiet time.

So cut and dried, if you restore control of your life and get your priorities in order imagine the peacefulness you could find. Never think it is not worth it or that it won’t work. You and only you have the control.

Let me know what steps you have taken in restoring control in your life. Email me at airadio@apostleradio.org . I would love to hear from you.

Oh! By the way! This works professionally and well as personally. So don’t allow your work life to run amuck when you can use the same advice.

Blessings
